In alignment with California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65) requirements, we are providing the following information so that our customers can make fully informed choices.
Prop 65 is a California law that requires businesses to notify consumers when their products may expose them to even trace amounts of certain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
This law does not prohibit the sale of any products—it simply requires a warning when these substances may be present, even at levels far below federal safety standards.
Proposition 65 is a California “right-to-know” law, not a safety standard. It requires a warning on any product that contains even trace amounts of more than 900 listed chemicals. Because our herbal and mushroom products are naturally sourced from the earth, trace levels of minerals such as lead can occur naturally in soil and water. These levels are typically far below the safety limits set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other global health agencies, but California law still requires that we include this notice.
A Prop 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe—it is often a sign of transparency, acknowledging the natural origin of ingredients and providing full disclosure so customers can make informed choices.

What is this warning about?
Proposition 65 covers over 900 substances, both naturally occurring and synthetic, that are found throughout the environment — including in soil, water, and plants. Because our herbal and mushroom ingredients are grown in nature, trace amounts of heavy metals such as lead may naturally occur due to environmental conditions. These levels are well within the safety limits established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other international health agencies.
Should I be concerned?
Prop 65 warning levels are among the most conservative in the world—often 1,000 times lower than federally established “safe harbor” limits. The presence of this warning does not necessarily indicate that a product is unsafe; rather, it reflects California’s uniquely stringent labeling standards.
All Tribe Organics products are third-party tested for purity, heavy metals, and contaminants to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA Organic, and cGMP standards. We provide this warning out of an abundance of transparency and to comply with California law.
Why don’t all brands include this warning?
Not all supplement companies display a Prop 65 warning, even if their products contain similar natural ingredients. This may be due to company size, labeling thresholds, or differing interpretations of enforcement.
